Malachi's Sports 101
To the sports world at large, I am Malachi and this is Sports 101! I will be educating you about issues surrounding sports from my perspective and giving you insight into the big games.

Iverson's Life Struggles!

Allen Iverson
Allen Iverson was my favorite player to watch during his best years in the NBA with his corn rolls, tattoos, speed, and his ankle breaking crossovers. He won scoring titles, a MVP award, had a good endorsement deal with Reebok, and the reason why the league changed the dress code in the NBA with his baggie jeans and his expensive chains' bling blinging. He mad over $150 million in his career in contract money and was sitting on top of the world. However, the difference between me and one of my favorite players, A.I., is that I would have to be the one to treat him to a combo meal at Mac Donald's because he is flat out broke.

"I don't even have money for a cheeseburger," Iverson shouted to his former wife, Tawanna, in a divorce proceeding in 2012. Tawanna responded by giving him $61.

Reports suggest that Iverson lived as he would never run out of money and now is in debt to multiple establishments.Former teammates have tried to reach out to him with advice but he would not respond.

The good news is Iverson will receive 30 million dollars when he is 55 due to his Reebok trust fund if he can manage to make till then.

Well, until then Iverson, the hamburger is on me! Read more at't-have-money-for-a-burger-disturbing-details-emerge/#6Apljb6LPFoKhqUZ.99

49ers doesn't have no worries!

Just when you thought the San Francisco 49ers was going to struggle at the receiver position, boom, Quentin Patton exploded to the scene like the earth did according to Charles Darwin's Big Bang Theory.

The 2013 fourth round draft pick continued to make plays during the final two preseason games, scoring on a slant that he took to the house for a 43 yard touchdown. 'I just tried to make a play," Patton commented post-game. 'Kap' believed in me...I'm just trying to make him happy."

Patton may have secured the number two receiver role after his preseason performance. The wide receiver depth chart will look like this until Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham comes back: Anquan Boldin, Marlon Moore, Kyle Williams, Quentin Patton, and Jon Baldwin.

Raiders Going Young!

ESPN Photo-Terrelle Pryor
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that in a rebuilding year you must see what your young players can do on the field. Well, I guess Oakland Raider head coach Dennis Allen is a rocket scientist because he is going with young athletic quarterback Terrelle Pryor to start against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

"When you see Terrelle in a game he just looks faster than the other players on the field," Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson commented after the Chicago Bears defeated the Raiders in the last preseason game. " He is a tremendous athlete, and he's got the ability to make plays. Right now we're looking for play makers."

The Raiders have nothing to lose in playing Pryor, but everything to gain. He is either going to grow into a quarterback like Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, or the Raiders will know they need to look elsewhere as they continue to develop young talent.

I'm rooting for young Pryor to succeed because the Bay Area would be rocking and rolling with two exciting quarterbacks shaking the Bay's bridges from Oakland to San Francisco. Kaepernick is doing his part, now Pryor has to read his options in his offense.

News and Notes:

Chris Harper
49ers signed wide receiver Chris Harper, Seattle's 2013 fourth round pick, who the Seahawks decided to part ways with. The 49ers envision using him as a tight-end.
Quarterback Tim Tebow was released by the New England Patriots.

Quarterback Vince Young was released by the Green Bay Packers.
