To the sports world at large, I am Malachi and this is Sports 101. I will be giving you the 411, the gossip, and the insight into the big games. FYI, I BLEED SPORTS! Let's Go!

Can Someone Throw The Only Punch But Still Lose The Fight?

Matthews' illegal hit on Kaepernick - Fox Sports Photo
Clay Matthews of the Green Bay Packers must have been watching too much MMA fighting the way he choked slammed San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick when he was clearly out of bounds. The play led to a 49er-Packer scrummage on the sideline. 49ers' Head Coach  Jim Harbough questioned Matthews manhood in response to his illegal hit on his quarterback. He said, "If you're going to go to the face, come with the knuckles, not an open slap!" Kaepernick wasn't fazed by Matthews' behavior saying, " If intimidation is your game plan, I hope you have a better one!"

There was so much hype surrounding the game because Matthews told ESPN Radio that the Packers planned to hit Kaepernick as much as possible. Kaepernick left a sour taste in the Packers mouth by setting a post season record against them in the 2013 divisional round of the playoffs, by rushing for 181 yards against them.

Well, the Packers did stop Kaepernick from running, but little did they know that he also was a gun slanger. Kaepernick picked apart Green Bay's secondary, throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns. The Packers may have won the fight, but the 49ers won the game 34-28.

Blame It On The Alcohol!
Candlestick Park

Why do sports fans get drunk at games? How can you actually enjoy a game piss drunk? It only can increase your chances of doing something that you will probably regret. Well, it is too late for a 49er fan to have regrets, because it was reported that a the fan fell to his death at the 49er-Packer game, five minutes after kick-off. Witnesses say that the man appeared drunk before he fell.

This is a good reason why the NFL should ban
alcohol at games or limit one's alcohol consumption. However, knowing the NFL, they are not going to give up their alcohol endorsement money because a fan fell to his death while intoxicated. Once again, it's like Puff Daddy's song says, "it's all about the Benjamins Baby!

Fakers Never Prosper

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones
Have you ever heard of the saying "fake it till you make it?" Well the New York Giants adopted that philosophy in their game plan against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night. The Giants had multiple injuries during the game and it looked suspicious when Defensive Tackle Cullin Jenkin went down with an injury while the Cowboys were in their hurry up offense. Cowboy's tight end Jason Witten was seen talking to an official saying, "They're faking, they're faking!" Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones also accused the Giants of faking, saying, "I didn't know everybody could. It was so obvious it was funny. It wasn't humorous because we really wanted the advantage and knew we could get it if we could get the ball snapped."

It is believed that the Giants were faking injuries to slow down the Cowboys hurry up offense to give them rest and to allow defensive substitutions.

Well, the Cowboys went on to score on that drive and win the game anyway.
